week 10: MAKING THINGS, e.g. vases

homework 65: MEASURING MY FAVOURITE VASE

And here's what they look like after the 2nd and final step of the creation process.

The YIN-YANG vase was finished by my personal, rather long-eared assistant PP ... I (leave it) like this ...

The HEART vase after being papier-mâcheed, waterproofed and painted.

It needs the golden ring in order to be able to stand.

homework 66: 3D-SKETCH-UP DESIGN OF A VASE

3 different views of my mosaics-vase and an idea of what this mosaics-vase would eventually look like.

The TANGRAM vases are papier-mâcheed, waterproofed and painted gold inside, and covered with rainbow-coloured corrugated cardboard on the outside.

I am VERY happy with them, they're real treasures on my windowsill!

homework 67: A PAPER OR CARDBOARD VASE

I LOVE vases ... even if I have to make them myself. So I have to go all out on homeworks 67 and 68.

For today's homework (67) I will make 1 vase and 2 vase-sets:

- first a yin-yang set

- then a heart vase (with a ring to enable it to stand)

- and then a tangram set

I will make my vases from papier-mâché. So first I have to make templates from cardboard.

I can then glue layers of paper over these forms, apply a waterproof coating and then paint and decorate them.

Here's what my vases look like after finishing the 1st step of the creating process:

homework 68: A CARDBOARD VASE

I wanted to make a really original vase, so after some thinking I decided to make a wall-tangram-vase.

On the left: my WALL-TANGRAM-vase after finishing the 1st step of the creation process. The arrows in the picture indicate all places where flowers or other things can be put into. Preferably other things than fresh-cut flowers for me, as I don't really like watching them die more and more and more ...

On the right: my vase after I have changed the background, waterproofed, painted and glued it.

Too bad that the picture doesn't do enough justice to the bronze and copper colours.
